Welcome to the 62nd Annual Juried Exhibition of the Sumi-e Society of America, Inc.

This website presents the 62nd Annual Exhibition of the Sumi-e Society of America. As the Ninth Worldwide Internet Exhibition, the Society enables artists and art lovers from around the world to enjoy the wonderful artwork by our talented members consisting of 111 paintings and 25 calligraphy pieces. The show consists of artwork selected from 214 entries by 96 artists.

Our goal in using the Internet is to expose more people to this amazing art form and increase the awareness and appreciation of the art of sumi-e in the United States and around the world. The Society is a non-profit educational organization established in 1963. By focusing on the different styles and techniques of East Asian art we can establish genuine friendship and understanding that will span our diverse backgrounds and bring us into community.

Together with their committee Patricia Gustafson, Amy Li-Wen Quach, Norene Spencer, and Carole Yee our Co-Chairs, Carol Wiggins and Carla Jaranson worked very hard to bring this exhibition to you.
